NISKOPOULOU MANIA PhD

Dr Niskopoulou was born in 1971 in Athens.
She works in her private practice in Chalandri since January 2009. She studied Medicine in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki She completed most of her training in Ophthalmology in hospitals in the UK, having gained extensive experience in Cataract Surgery and Retinal Pathology.
She was granted a fellowship in Medical Retina from oorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK, one of the leading centres in Ophthalmic Care and Research, after having completed more than one year of sub-specialising.
She received her PhD with the title: ‘Optical Coherence Tomography and Cystoid Macular Oedema following cataract surgery’ with Honours. She has been Staff Grade in Frimley Park Hospital until 2004 and Medical Retina Consultant, as well as Clinical Lead in Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service in Moorfields Eye Hospital, Croydon from 2012 to 2015.
She has been Scientific Collaborator from 2008 to 2014 at the Medical Retina Department of the A’ Ophthalmology University Clinic in Athens. She is the President of the Greek Vitreo-Retinal Society.
