Professor Anastasios-Georgios P. Konstas is a glaucoma specialist. For more than 30 years he has focused in diagnosing and managing glaucoma, a significant cause of blindness worldwide. His MD thesis (Aristotle University) and his PhD thesis (University of Glasgow) included innovative research on the medical and surgical care of glaucoma. Professor Konstas trained and specialized in glaucoma for 8 years in Great Britain. He then returned to Greece to establish the glaucoma service in the 1st University Department of Ophthalmology, AHEPA Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece. In the last 25 years he has been involved in many innovative studies on the medical, laser and surgical therapy of all glaucoma forms. His special interest is the efficacy of all glaucoma therapy options. Professor Konstas has published more than 190 papers in many ophthalmological journals (mostly in glaucoma) and has given hundreds of lectures on glaucoma therapy worldwide. In 2021 and 2022 he was honored by being selected in the World's top 2% Scientists' List for ophthalmology (Stanford University List).
