I was born in 1967 in the city of Thessaloniki. I completed my basic education in the 3rd High School of Veria with honors and admitted to medical school after passing the national university schools exams. I graduated from the medical school of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1992. I passed the USMLE/ECFMG exams and I worked as a surgical resident at Graduate Hospital, Philadelphia, USA until 2001. I completed my training in Otolaryngology in Papanikolaou General Hospital in 2004. After completion of my residence I was trained in Phoniatrics (voice care) and nasal surgery in Graduate Hospital and Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, USA. My Ph.D. Thesis was completed at Zentrum Anatomie of the University of Cologne and I was awarded the Ph.D. degree by the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with honors in 2007. Since 2011 I teach Anatomy at the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I translated Ellis’ Clinical Anatomy into Greek and I also participated in Dorland’s medical dictionary translation. I have attended many conferences and seminars and many of my research papers have been published in international medical journals.
